IMPORTANT REMINDER - Launch of School Messenger Communication System

We are excited to announce that the Simcoe Muskoka Catholic District School Board is implementing a new communication system called School Messenger. This system will enable us to contact parents and guardians quickly and easily via email, text message and/or voice call out. This system will be used to deliver timely information to families, especially in an emergency situation. It will also be used to provide you with important updates about what is happening at Monsignor J.E. Ronan Catholic School. This system will replace our existing "e-blasts", the current communication system that you are receiving this email from.
In order for this new tool to be successful we must have your most up-to-date and accurate contact information on file in our Main Office - this includes home phone, email and cell phone for anyone who should be receiving communication for your child.
The last email you will receive from our current system will be on Friday, October 11th, 2019. Starting immediately after the Thanksgiving Holiday, on Tuesday, October 15th, 2019, all communication from our school will come directly via School Messenger. If you do not receive a welcome message from me via School Messenger on Tuesday, October 15th, 2019, please contact the Main Office beginning on Wednesday, October 16th, 2019 to update your families contact information.
In addition, you will be required to "Opt-In" in order to receive text messages. On Monday, September 30th, 2019, a text message was sent to our families from School Messenger, with the option to "Opt-In" to SMS Messaging. If you thought that this message was spam and deleted it, you may still "Opt-In" by texting “Y” or “Yes” to 978338. Please note that charges will only apply if your cellular plan does not include text messages.
If you did not receive the "Opt-In" text message, it may be because we don’t have your cell number on file. Please feel free to contact the Main Office to ensure we have your most up-to-date contact information on file.
