TODAY: Terry Fox Run - YELLOW & GOLD SPIRIT DAY!
Published on Sep 26, 2019 06:34

Dear Parent(s)/Guardian(s),

TODAY the students of Monsignor J.E. Ronan Catholic School will be taking part in the annual Terry Fox School Run (rain date: Monday, September 30th, 2019).

There are many ways that we can contribute to this important event. We are asking that students collect donations (from friends and family, NOT door to door canvassing) in the form of a “Toonie for Terry”, in recognition of Terry’s courageous battle with cancer, and his tireless efforts to raise money for cancer research. You can also donate on line by clicking HERE.

To ensure your child/children enjoy this event to the fullest, it is strongly urged that they:

* wear appropriate clothing for exercise and the weather conditions
* wear sunscreen and a hat
* bring a full water bottle with his/her name on it

Our students in Grades 4 to 8 will be walking down Centre Street, to Main Street, and back-up Centre Street. Our students in FDK and Grades 1 to 3 will be walking around our school field. Please note, that in order for our students in Grades 4-8 to be eligible to participate off school property, parents MUST complete the Neighbourhood Walks Permission Form on School-Day!

We are very pleased to be a part of this year’s Terry Fox School Run, as we encourage our students to develop a sense of volunteerism and goodwill, while celebrating school spirit. In order to help celebrate our school spirit, we are encouraging all students to wear YELLOW & GOLD for the Terry Fox Run, in support of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. We will also be selling 50/50 tickets during the OPEN HOUSE & BBQ TONIGHT. All proceeds will go to TRF.org.
